What a mini-split costs in Tucson
Single-zone mini-split installs start at $5,500 and typically run $5,500 to $8,000. Multi-zone systems are priced per indoor head, about $5,000 each, and most of our mini-split installs are multi-zone.
Those numbers cover the installation, not just the equipment. Your exact price depends on the rooms, the line-set run and the electrical, so we measure first and put it in writing. The written price is the price you pay. The one exception is something nobody could see before the work started, like a line set leaking inside a wall or under the slab, or wiring burned inside the attic. That is rare, and we show you before we touch it.

What moves your price
- How many indoor heads you need, and how big each room's load is
- How far the line set has to run, and which walls and attic spaces it crosses
- Your electrical: the circuit, the disconnect and the panel capacity we find at the pre-measure
- The equipment you choose. We show you options and explain what each one buys
Mini-split or extending your ductwork?
For a casita, garage conversion or addition, a mini-split usually costs less than extending ductwork, especially over distance or through finished walls and ceilings. If your home has no ducts at all, a multi-zone mini-split can be the whole system. See six heads on one Tucson home.
We price both and show you the comparison for your house.
TEP rebate and financing
We are a TEP participating contractor. TEP's current mini-split rebate is up to $100 per ton, and when you qualify it comes off your invoice. Qualifying is TEP's call and the amount can change, so confirm the current figure at tep.com.

Five questions to ask any mini-split quote
- Is it sized room by room? Ask to see the load calculation. A square-foot guess is not sizing.
- Who actually installs it? Ask who will be standing in your house.
- Is it to code? Disconnect, dedicated circuit, condensate handling and line-set protection are there for a reason.
- Will it pass a home inspection when you sell? The day the home inspector goes through the system is a bad day to find shortcuts.
- Who comes back if it fails? Get what is covered, for how long and who you call in writing.
Our process
How we price and install a mini-split
01
Manual J, room by room
We calculate the load for each room, so every head is matched to a measured number.
02
Pre-measurement
We check wall access, electrical capacity and the line-set route before install day.
03
Written price
You get the price in writing, and the written price is the price you pay.
04
Install and verify
We install, record operating readings and run a separate quality-control visit. The completed installation is independently checked against the original quote and manufacturer specifications.
