Seal the leaks nobody can reach

Most duct leaks aren't where anyone can get to them. They're at seams inside walls, behind ceilings, under attic insulation, or in the ductwork under a manufactured home's floor. Tape and mastic only fix what a technician can touch. Aeroseal fixes the rest.

Aeroseal works from inside the ductwork. The duct system is pressurized and a sealant is blown through it as a fine mist. The particles ride the escaping air to each leak, stick to the edges and build up until the leak is closed. According to Aeroseal, it seals holes up to 5/8 inch across, and the sealant collects only at the leaks instead of coating the inside of your ducts. The process was developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

The payoff is simple: the air you pay to cool through a Tucson summer goes to your rooms, not into the attic.

Signs your ducts are leaking

  • Rooms at the end of a duct run that never get as cool as the rest of the house
  • Dust that settles back on furniture days after you clean
  • An AC that runs all afternoon and still can't keep up
  • Strong airflow at some vents and barely any at others
  • A new AC or furnace that doesn't feel any better than the old one

How an Aeroseal job works

01

Free quote with a duct review

Your Aeroseal quote is free and includes a quick duct review. We scope or run infrared on your ductwork so you can see the leaks and know how Aeroseal would benefit your home. A full flow-hood leakage test before we start is available on request.

02

Protect your home

Most of the job is prep. We cover furniture, TVs and belongings with plastic so overspray can't damage anything, block off the registers, and protect the furnace and coil so sealant only travels through the ducts.

03

Fix the big openings by hand

Disconnected runs and openings too large for Aeroseal are repaired by hand first.

04

Seal from the inside

The sealing itself takes about 30 minutes, and we recommend your household steps out for that part. The equipment measures the leakage at the start and tracks it dropping in real time.

05

Your before-and-after report

When sealing is done, the leakage is measured again. You always get the report comparing before and after.

Aeroseal or hand sealing?

Not every house needs Aeroseal. A disconnected run in the attic or a crushed section of flex duct is a hand repair, and our duct testing and sealing page covers that work. Aeroseal is the answer when leaks are spread through the whole system and hidden where hands can't reach.

Aeroseal also seals flex duct, and it works in manufactured and mobile homes, where most of the ductwork runs under the floor.
