What we did
The real cause was on the roof
01
Trace the cooling problem.
The call came in as a thermostat that wasn't reading right. Our diagnostic found the cause on the roof: the outdoor fan motor had failed, which left the compressor overheating and the home without cooling.
02
Replace the fan motor.
We replaced the outdoor fan motor and its capacitor and documented the work at the rooftop unit.
03
Check the repair.
With the new motor running, we confirmed cooling had returned and checked electrical operation and the temperature drop across the system.
Checks along the way

No guessing. We're testing.
A failed outdoor fan motor is a common summer failure, and running the system that way puts heat on the compressor. We find the cause, fix the part that failed, and check the system before we leave. Repairs are warrantied in writing for one year, parts and labor. Read the repair warranty.
Rooftop unit not keeping up?
We serve Oro Valley homes with the same crew and the same written repair warranty.
