Our Workmanship Standards

No guessing. We're testing.

This page is how the work actually gets done — what we measure on a repair, what we verify on an install, which licenses cover which trade, and what is guaranteed in writing. Read it before you call us, not after.

What "tested, not guessed" means

A symptom tells us where to look. It does not tell us what is wrong.

Desert dust loads coils. Hard water scales fixtures and heating elements. Those are real Tucson conditions, and they are a reason to investigate — not a diagnosis. So we measure first, we show you the readings, and we put the price in writing before you approve anything.

That standard is the same in both trades. Below is what it looks like on three ordinary jobs.

Our process

An AC repair, step by step

01

We start with what you noticed

Timing, sounds, airflow, which rooms — before anyone touches a gauge. What you have been living with narrows the search faster than a parts catalog does.

02

We run a complete diagnostic, not just to the first fault

Finding a broken part does not end the diagnostic. We check electrical connections, refrigerant pressures and airflow across the system, and we test the components upstream and downstream of the fault — voltage at the unit, capacitors against their rating, contactor points, motor amp draw, the filter and coil, the condensate line. A familiar symptom is not a reason to skip the measurements.

03

We tell you what caused it, and what else is at risk

The part that failed is often not the thing that caused the failure, and a system that produced one failure frequently has others building. You get both answers: what caused this one, and what our readings say about the rest of the system. You hear it before you decide, not on the next call.

04

Findings and price, in writing

You get the readings, the diagnosis and a flat written price for what we found. Nothing is repaired until you approve that price. If something we found can wait, we tell you it can wait, and it stays its own line rather than getting folded into today's repair.

05

We repair what we found

We fix the part that is actually broken, not the most convenient one on the truck. The repair carries our written 1-year materials-and-labor warranty as standard, and the term is printed on the invoice line so you can read it off the paperwork. See what the warranty covers.

06

We verify it holds before we leave

We watch a full run cycle and re-read the same measurements we started with — pressures, airflow, thermostat behavior. The repair is confirmed on the instruments, not on the fact that cold air is coming out of a vent.

Our process

An installation, step by step

01

Manual J load calculation

We calculate your home's actual heating and cooling load in ACCA-approved load-calculation software instead of matching the size of the old system, which may have been wrong from the day it went in.

02

Pre-measurement, before installation day

We measure your space, your existing ductwork and equipment access ahead of time, so the equipment fits and install day holds no surprises. Your quote is written and flat: the price you are given is the price you pay.

03

Installation to spec and to code

The crew installs to manufacturer specifications and local code. The day-one details that decide how long a system lives — nitrogen flowed on every brazed connection, a deep vacuum with a decay test, lineset flushing or replacement, electrical sized to the equipment — are listed job by job on our AC installation page.

04

Ductwork testing

We test the ductwork for leaks and airflow, because a correctly sized system still underperforms if the air it produces never reaches your rooms.

05

Commissioning before we call it done

Refrigerant charge, airflow and static pressure are read from live connected instruments and scored, not eyeballed. You keep the report and the photos. A system is not finished when it turns on; it is finished when it measures right.

Our process

A plumbing repair, step by step

01

We rule out the obvious first

Fixtures, toilets and visible plumbing get checked before anyone assumes a hidden leak or a slab leak. The cheap answer gets eliminated before the expensive one gets proposed.

02

We locate it with instruments

Listening equipment and pressure testing pinpoint a leak so we open up as little of your home as possible. Water pressure is measured with real tools. Water quality is tested with a meter, with you standing there. A sewer line gets scoped, and you get the video.

03

You see the evidence, then the price

You see what we found and understand the repair plan before any work starts, and the price is in writing first — the same rule as the HVAC side.

04

The repair is warrantied in writing

Plumbing repairs carry the same written 1-year materials-and-labor warranty as standard. Drain hydro jetting is warrantied 6 months, excluding foreign objects, and we say so before we start.

The licenses the work is done under

We hold two Arizona Registrar of Contractors licenses, and both are printed on every page of this site:

AZ ROC CR-39 #208709 · CR-77 #293702

  • CR-39 — Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. This is the license the HVAC work is performed under: repairs, replacements, ductwork, heat pumps and furnaces.
  • CR-77 — Plumbing, including solar. This is the license the plumbing work is performed under, and it is the classification gas work falls under as well.

Two trades, two licenses, held by one company — which is why the plumber and the HVAC technician who come to your house are both ours. We are licensed, bonded and insured.

Both numbers are public. You can look either one up on the Registrar's own registry and see the classification and status for yourself, and if we ever fall short, that same Registrar is your recourse: nothing in our agreement limits your right to file a complaint with them.

Permits and inspections

When the work requires a permit, we pull it — under our own license, in our own name, not yours.

First we check which jurisdiction you are actually in. A great many Tucson mailing addresses sit in unincorporated Pima County rather than inside city limits, and the two use different permitting authorities. That is worth knowing before a job starts, because it changes what we can promise you about the inspection:

  • City of Tucson gives us a date for the inspection, not a time window, and there is no virtual option. Plan on being available for most of that day.
  • Pima County lets us choose a time window, and in most cases the inspection can be done virtually.

When a job has several trades exposed at once, we request all of the finals together so one inspector can clear them in one visit and the permit closes clean, instead of leaving scope uninspected and the permit open behind us.

City of Tucson permits and their passed inspections stay on the city's public record permanently, searchable by address. That is not our paperwork — it is the city's, and you can read it without asking us.

What is guaranteed, and what that actually means

We back the work two ways, and they are not the same instrument. We keep them separate on purpose, because conflating them is how a promise stops meaning anything.

Repairs and service carry a written warranty. One year on materials and labor as standard. Home Wellness Club members get 5 years on parts and 2 years on labor on qualifying repair line items, for as long as the membership stays continuously active. The exclusions are not buried: cleanings and maintenance outcomes are not warrantied, hydro jetting excludes foreign objects, and parts you supply yourself carry no warranty unless our workmanship caused the failure. All of it is spelled out on the repair and service warranty page.

Qualifying installations can carry a written 1-Year Money-Back Guarantee. It is a satisfaction promise, not defect coverage, and it is conditional — we would rather tell you the conditions here than have you discover them later. It applies to residential, owner-occupied installations only; it is never offered on commercial, rental or property-management work. The system has to be installed exactly to our spec and our design, which includes letting us perform a site survey with a Manual J load calculation. If you direct us to skip something that design calls for, we will still do the job, but the guarantee comes off the proposal. It runs one year from the invoice date, and it asks that you give us the chance to correct a complaint before you invoke it. The full terms are on the guarantee page.

Installation equipment and labor warranties are a third thing again, separate from both, and they are spelled out on your proposal.

What you have in your hands after we leave

  • A written price you approved before any work started — not a number that moved once the job was open.
  • The findings that supported the recommendation: photos and video are taken on every job, in both trades, whether or not you ask.
  • The measurements themselves, where the job produced them — water pressure, water hardness, a sewer-line video, or the scored startup report and photos from an installation.
  • A written invoice with the warranty term printed on each qualifying line item, so coverage is read off the line rather than remembered from a conversation.
  • On permitted work, a permit record and passed inspections held by the jurisdiction, not by us.

Everyone promises. We prove it.

Every repair we do is warrantied in writing, and qualifying installations are backed by a written 1-Year Money-Back Guarantee. Both have their exclusions written down rather than implied. Read the terms, then decide whether we have earned the call.
